What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the oldest continuously practiced form of medicine in the world. It is based on the flow of vital energy - called Qi (Chi) - through the body in channels. Health and wellbeing is associated with balanced and free-flowing Qi, whereas illness and disease is associated with blocked or stagnant flow. Using hair-thin, sterile, disposable needles, or a warming herb called Moxa, the practitioner accesses these channels via specific points on the body, which allows for energy to flow unobstructed and with appropriate vigor. This in turn restores natural harmony and the body's innate self regulatory mechanisms.

How can Acupuncture Help You?

Acupuncture offers a holistic approach to treatment, and is uniquely designed for each and every patient. It treats the underlying imbalances of the body, not just the signs and symptoms. Acupuncture is endorsed by the World Health Organization to help with numerous conditions, and is practiced in nearly every country in the world. In many countries Acupuncture is the primary form of medicine. Additionally, the National Institutes of Health states that when treating similar conditions, Acupuncture is advantageous over many other medical procedures and/or drug therapies since it has significantly lower, if any, adverse effects.

It is a safe, gentle, natural and extremely effective method that empowers a person’s innate healing ability. In fact, most patients report improved health, well-being, vitality, better quality of life, overall decreased sickness and reduced health-care costs!

With ongoing treatment you can reasonably expect to have improvement with physical issues or complaints, increased sense of peace and calm in your everyday life, as well as enjoying more ease and a relaxed way of being.
