About Dr. Bella Fooksman, D.Ac., L.Ac.

Dr. Bella Fooksman is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist, and a Certified Acupuncture Detox Specialist with the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA). She has been in private practice for over a decade.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree from New York University where she was a John Ben Snow Scholar. She completed a Master's Degree in Acupuncture at the Maryland University of Integrative health (formerly Tai Sophia Institute), - a national leader in Traditional Medicine Education.  


After completing a clinical internship at the Institute's Faculty Supervised Clinic, she entered private practice in the Owings Mills area of Baltimore, Maryland. Bella achieved a Doctorate in Acupuncture (D.Ac.) at the Maryland University of Integrative Health. She is a member of the Maryland Acupuncture Society and the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.


What do D.Ac. and L.Ac. mean? D.Ac. means that Bella has earned the highest level of education and training possible in the field - a Doctorate in Acupuncture. L.Ac. means that Bella is a Licensed Acupuncturist; a license to practice Acupuncture is necessary in the State of Maryland and was issued by the Maryland Board of Acupuncture.
